During this overnight trip you’ll trek across the snow covered peaks of the oldest National Park of the country – the Krkonose Mountains. You will put on snowshoes and reach the highest peak of the Czech Republic – Snezka 1602 meters / 5256 feet a.s.l.
To make the most of the trip (and for your safety and comfort), our group will be accompanied by my friend Ondra who lives in the area and is a qualified mountain guide.
DIFFICULTY: MEDIUM
(Good health and physical fitness is necessary)
This 2-day trek in the snow-covered Krkonose will involve about 25 km of snowshoeing and ascending some 1500 altitude metres including the highest point of the Czech Republic Snezka.
What to take with you:
“Functional”, sweat-absorbing underwear, windproof and waterproof jacket, hat and gloves, sun screen, sun-glasses, headlamp, pyjamas/comfortable clothes for sleeping, toiletries.
Only pack what you can comfortably carry!
Do NOT bring a sleeping bag!
LOGISTICS
We’re meeting on Saturday 18th of January 2020 at 6:50 am in front of the old building of Prague Main Train Station (Fantova budova).
Arrival back to Prague is planned on Sunday at 8:05 pm. As always, a delay is possible.
ACCOMMODATION
You’ll stay in a lovely mountain hotel at 1260 meters/4130 ft a.s.l. There are rooms for 3, 4 and 5 persons and two bathrooms – one for gents, one for ladies. The accommodation includes Saturday dinner and Sunday breakfast. Bedding and towels are provided.
