Hello Discoverers!
This canoeing trip is an opportunity for all of you who would like to learn canoeing with an instructor, rather than just by doing it.
There will be myself (Filip) as the event host and Petr as a canoeing instructor. Petr is a student of the Faculty of Physical Education and a holder of “Water Tourism Instructor Certificate”. Together, we will to teach you how to canoe properly!
We will run Berounka which is an easy river and not as busy as Sázava.
The plan is to canoe from Srbsko to Dobřichovice. It is a picturesque stretch of the river flowing through the Český kras protected landscape area. There are pretty limestone rocks along the river and you will be passing near the Karlštejn castle.
It is an easy 14 km with 4 weirs and no rapids. The main goal is to teach you canoeing, so if we need more time to do that, we might shorten the route as necessary.
DIFFICULTY: Easy
Suitable for beginners with no previous canoeing experience.
What to bring with you
Shoes to wear in water (sandals, or you can buy special shoes for walking in water), wear clothes which dry fast (NOT jeans), sunscreen, spare T-shirt, trousers and underwear (in case your canoe capsizes), towel, swimwear, bottle of water and a small snack. Put all your staff to a small compact bag – we will put all our belongings into water-proof barrels and they are not very large.
Keep your phone in a waterproof case and have glasses on a string while on the river!
