Hello Discoverers!
Some of you requested a trip to High Tatras accessible to more casual hikers. So, here you have it!
Beware that this trip is easier, not easy! You still need to be reasonably fit and used to walking. I planned the hikes so they don’t exceed some 16 km and 800 meters of vertical gain in a day.
We will see lakes, waterfalls and enjoy the skyline of the peaks without actually climbing them!
Our hiking base will be at Štrbské pleso from where we set off on three day-hikes.
We take advantage of the Czech public holidays on September 28 (The St. Wenceslas Day) so you will only need to take one day of holidays on Monday 27th.
Meeting at the Prague Main Train Station at 21:00.
Overnight train journey on a sleeper train.
In the morning arrival to Štrbské Pleso. We will leave our belongings in the hotel and set off on the first hike.

(For Discovery Pass discount apply your code at the checkout)
The price includes: Round-trip train ticket from Prague to the High Tatras, all local transport, 3 nights accommodation, mandatory Travel Agency Insurance against bankruptcy and photos from the trip.
Half-board (breakfast and dinner) in a nice local restaurant can be arranged at a reduced price. You will be informed about the offer a few weeks before the trip.
Travel health insurance. I strongly advise you to arrange one because your regular health insurance (e.g. EHIC) wouldn’t cover, for example, an emergency helicopter transport. It is extremely unlikely you will need that but better to be safe than sorry! Insure yourself for about 100 Kč and have a peace of mind!
Please download the event contract form from here. You will need to print it out, fill it in and sign. For a digitally fillable form click here.
