Hey Discoverers!
I would like to show you my favourite hiking route near Prague.
It leads across the Český kras, a remarkable landscape of limestone rocks, deciduous forest and canyon-like valleys south-west of Prague.
We’ll follow beautiful, yet little frequented foot paths and enjoy some spectacular views like the one in the title picture.
We’ll also stop at the super picturesque village of Svatý Jan pod Skalou and I will tell you more about its history.
And since not only nature and culture feeds the man, there will be a pleasant refreshment stop at the end of the hike!
LOGISTICS
We will meet in the departure hall of Smíchovské nádraží (Prague – Smíchov train station) at 10:20 on Sunday morning.

We should be back in Prague by 18:00.
DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium
About 11 km, mostly on unpaved and potentially muddy forest trails. One steep ascent of about 100 vertical meters (for the lookout of course!)
What to bring with you
- Comfortable walking shoes with good grip
- An umbrella or raincoat if rain is expected.
- Water & snack
If you bring a dog, you will need to buy a separate train ticket for it and it has to be muzzled while on the train.
