Let’s walk around Prokopák for Electric Eccentric!

Let’s explore the beautiful Prokopské Valley in Prague 5, have a friendly chat with like-minded people and, most importantly, support a fantastic cause!
All the proceeds of this walk will be donated to “Electric Eccentric”, a summer travel camp for people confined to an electric wheelchair.
Suggested donation is 200 CZK per person but the amount is up to you! Donate online (-> Add to Cart; or on darujme.cz) or in cash on the day.

Hello everyone!
I would like to invite you to a very special event, my first walk to raise money for a charity!
About Electric Eccentric (EE)
EE gives people with severe disabilities an opportunity to experience something we take for granted, i.e. going freely on a few days adventure, sleeping in tents and discovering Czech countryside.
The tagline and motto of EE, “z ležáka jezdec” which literally translates as “from bedridden to a rider”, aptly describes the idea.
For each rider two helpers are needed to build tents, assist with personal hygiene and multitude of other things depending on the particular needs of each participant.
And, since this is a traveling camp, a “rescue” vehicle is also necessary in case a wheelchair breaks down en route between two campsites.
The participants pay a small fee to take part and the rest is covered from donations. The assistants get paid a little to cover their expenses.
Since 2016 already 150 bedridden people have become riders!
I chose to support this cause because I have been an EE assistant myself and know first hand how life changing and rewarding the experience is.
The Electric Eccentric 2023 is taking place in August in the Vysočina region. You can learn more about it on its website and facebook.
Vašek Uher, the founder and main organizer of EE will join us on the walk and tell you more about it.
HOW TO DONATE
3 ways:
- Online via DP website, where I created tickets in the value of 150, 200 and 250 CZK. Buy as many as you want :) Add to Cart -> View Cart -> Checkout. Direct bank transfer will be appreciated but I will cover card fees so the full amount goes to EE.
- Through a fundraiser on darujme.cz (2% go to credit card fees)
- In cash on the day (a receipt will be provided on request)
You can give as much as you want, 200 CZK per person is suggested, but it can be less or more!
WHAT WILL YOUR CONTRIBUTION BUY
- 1,500 CZK pays the reward for one assistant for helping wheelchair users with things they cannot do themselves
- 5,000 CZK buys accommodation for all assistants for one night
- 10,000 CZK will cover the cost of a van that will transport the participants’ tents and sleeping bags from campsite to campsite
MEETING TIME & LOCATION
Sunday June 11 at 10:00 am, outside of “Hůrka” metro B station (there is only one exit).
DIFFICULTY: Easy
About 9 km of walking on wheelchair accessible trails, mostly flat or downhill (not more than 100 meters of vertical gain in total).
Suitable for people who are new to hiking and want to build up their stamina, as well as for children and strollers.
What to bring with you
- Comfortable walking shoes
- Water and snack
- Umbrella or rain coat if rain is expected (Like EE this walk will go ahead in any weather, sun or rain)
- Spirit of generosity
