Ahoj Netwalkers!
For the first walk of 2025, we will enjoy the forests and meadows of “Slavičí údolí” (Nightingale Valley) near Radotín in the south-west of Prague.
Geologically part of the limestone landscape of Český kras, the nature in this part of the metropolis is protected under the umbrella of the Radotín – Chuchle Natural Park.
Apart from a pleasant walk in the woods and vistas far and wide, we will also see an interesting technical monument from the 19th century – the Pacold Lime Kiln.
We will finish the ramble by 14:00 and, as always, there will be a restaurant booked for (optional) lunch afterwards!
We will meet in the departure hall of Smíchovské nádraží (Prague – Smíchov train station) at 10:00 on Sunday morning.
A photo of the meeting point is below.
Don’t be late our train leaves at 10:23!
A 10-min train ride (within the city limits -> free with “Lítačka” card) will take us to Radotín where the hike starts.
Around 9 km with cca 300 meters of vertical gain, mostly on unpaved trails. There will be one steep ascent and some uneven, rocky trails.
Comfortable walking shoes you don’t mind getting dirty. An umbrella or raincoat if rain is expected.
