The Bastei Bridge is rightly the top landmark of Saxon Switzerland and something you should see with your own eyes! And because, this is a Discovering Prague & CZ trip, you will also see some of the less visited attractions of this unique natural area!
You will have to wear a facemask while travelling on the bus!

PLAN OF THE DAY & TRAIL DESCRIPTION
Please read attentively!
We will meet at 8:00 am on Saturday 12th of September 2020, in front of the old building of Prague Main Train Station (Fantova budova). See the photo of the meeting point below.
We will travel by a privately chartered small bus. The journey to the trailhead takes about 2 hours and 15 minutes.
FOOD
We will have cca 30 min picnic break at Bastei. There are kiosks selling snacks and drinks (sausages, ice cream, beer, etc.) or bring your own picnic lunch. After we finished the hike (around 15:30), you will be able to have a meal in a nice local restaurant (not included in the price, cca 12 Euro, optional). Bring water and a sandwich/snack to eat during the day!
Expected arrival back to Prague is around 8:00 pm but a delay is possible. Don’t plan anything important after the trip!
DIFFICULTY: Medium
(Good health and physical fitness is necessary)
About 11 km of walking including steep stairs and uneven surfaces. You will be required to walk up 700 meters long stairs overcoming 130 meters of vertical gain! This is roughly twice as much as the stairs from Karlín to Vítkov in Prague.
Brace for walking up long stairs!
BRING WITH YOU
You will be going abroad so you have to have a Personal ID with you, i.e. national ID card or passport!
Sturdy and non-slippery walking shoes/boots. Dress in layers according to the weather forecast for the day. Bring some energy bars etc, and water. Euros to buy snacks and souvenirs. You will need 50 Euro cents to use the WC at Bastei.

The trip will go ahead in all weather conditions, please dress appropriately.

The price includes comfortable transport by private bus, admission fee to the Neurathen Rock Castle, Thomas and myself as your knowledgeable local guides and photos from the trip.
Children under 16 pay 490 CZK (create a separate order for them an enter ‘child16’ coupon code at the checkout)
Food&drink is not included.
