Ahoj Discoverers!

I’d like to invite you to another relaxing canoeing trip. This time on Sázava, the most popular Czech river.

We will run a very scenic section of the Sázava from Český Šternberk to Ledečko.

You can join even if you haven’t canoed before as long as you can swim. You should also be somewhat physically coordinated and have patience to learn a new motor skill.

I’m not a certified instructor but I have taught countless people the basics of canoeing.

DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium

(depending on the water level on the day)

About  9 km / 6 miles. There are 4 weirs and some gentle rapids.

LOGISTICS

We will meet  at 8:00 AM in front of the main ticket office at the Prague Main Railway Station.

We’ll be aiming to be back in Prague by 19:00. However, we will be as fast as the slowest members of our group and an unexpected delay is possible. This is a full-day event.

What to bring with you

Shoes to wear in water (sandals, or you can buy special shoes for walking in water), wear clothes which dry fast (NOT jeans), sunscreen, spare T-shirt, trousers and underwear (in case your canoe capsizes), towel, swimwear if you are brave, bottle of water and a small snack. Put all your staff to a small compact bag – we will put all our belongings into water-proof barrels and they are not very large.

Since dropping my phone in the river and losing my glasses during capsizing, I’ve been recommending everyone to keep their phone in a waterproof case and having glasses on a string while on the boat.

(Includes train fare both ways, equipment rental and myself as your guide and instructor)

Children under 16 accompanied by adult pay  550 CZK (create a separate order for them an enter ‘child16’ coupon code at the checkout)
