This Sunday half-day hike will take you to the eastern outskirts of the Capital. A 15-minute train ride will take us from the city center to the suburb of Bechovice, well-known for the annual Bechovice – Praha Run and for the Bechovice Research Institute.
We will walk some 10 km in the grassland, forests and parks of the Klánovice – Čihadla Nature Park, the largest of its kind in Prague.
The highlights include the Pocernice Fishpond and the Počernice Chateau Park. Also Čihadla Natural Reserve, with its little pools, river meanders and boardwalks across marshes. It’s home to water birds, fish and other wild life.
The cherry on the cake of this trip will be the Doubravka XIV. Observation Tower. Its unique 20 meters high construction made of wood was only finished in June 2018.

DIFFICULTY: Easy to medium
10 km long route, often on unpaved, potentially muddy marked and unmarked hiking trails.
LOGISTICS
We will meet on Sunday 18th of November, at 9:45 am at Masarykovo nadrazi – right in front of the departures board in the main hall.
Please allow extra time to get there – public transport is less frequent on Sundays. Use the journey planner to plan your route. Don’t be late, our train leaves at 10:01! If you can not find the group, call me at +420 739 370 212.
We will travel within Prague city limits – you will need Lítačka or a validated 24 CZK ticket.
The hiking part will end around 1:45 pm and then we’ll go on an optional late lunch together in the Sochi Restaurant. It’s near to the Rajská zahrada metro B station.
TAKE WITH YOU
Good, non-slippery shoes are strongly recommended. Water and a snack. Lítačka or one 24 CZK ticket!
