Let’s make the most of the brisk autumn days and go on a hike across the Jizera mountains! In colloquial Czech known as Jizerky, they are located in the Liberec region some 2 hours north of Prague.
The first day, we will hike in the beech forests which were this year added to UNESCO World Heritage. They are particularly beautiful at this time of the year!
For the night we will enjoy the spiritual atmosphere of the former Franciscan Monastery* in Hejnice.
But not to worry, no asceticism there. We will stay in comfortable en suite double rooms!
* At the hotel check-in, you will need to present a vaccination certificate, a negative Covid test or a proof of having Covid in the past 180 days.
On Sunday, we will hike some 20 km across the most remote part of the mountains along the Polish border via the hamlet of Jizerka. It is one of the coldest places in the country so make sure to dress well!
Don’t hesitate and reserve your place because the group size is limited to 10 people!
LOGISTICS
Meeting on Saturday at 8:30 at the Černý most Bus Station
The bus and train journey to the starting point of the hike takes about 2 hours.
Expected return: Sunday at 21:00, also at Černý most
DIFFICULTY: Medium to Demanding
(Will challenge most hikers. Good health and physical fitness is necessary)
In two days you will hike altogether roughly 35 km (Saturday 15 km, Sunday 20 km) and ascend about 800 vertical metres (400 on Sat and 400 on Sunday).
What to take with you
Solid waterproof walking shoes or boots with good grit, windproof/waterproof jacket, hat, gloves, pyjamas/comfortable clothes for sleeping, toiletries.

The price includes all travel (train and bus), accommodation in en suite private rooms for two (single rooms are available for additional 300 Kč), Sunday breakfast, mandatory Travel Agency Insurance against bankruptcy and photos from the trip, guiding and organization.
Children under 16 pay 1590 Kč (create a separate order for them an enter ‘child16’ coupon code at the checkout). The trip is suitable for sporty children from 12 years up.
