let’s have fun on water and discover a lovely Czech city!
We’ll paddleboard on a quiet stretch of the river Orlice in the tranquil countryside of eastern Bohemia. The water is clean and (relatively) warm, making it ideal for a refreshing swim.
You can expect a relaxed pace with plenty of stops for swimming and chilling on the river.
The ride will finish at a bathing area not far from the center of Hradec Králové. There is a café and Fun Water Park with inflatable attractions for more entertainment in the river.
If the day is very hot, we will stay longer on the beach and do less sightseeing in the city. In case the weather is cooler, we will take a longer walking tour. There’s loads to see in the town!
Hradec, as we call it for short, is one of the oldest and historically most significant Czech cities. For centuries, it was one of the dowry towns of Czech queens, hence “Králové” which means “belonging to the queen”.
At the beginning of the 20the century, the city was transformed by renowned Czech architects Jan Kotěra and Josef Gočár, who created a modern and progressive city and Hradec came to be known as the Salon of the Republic.

TIMETABLE
We will meet at 9:45 at Prague Main Station (at our usual place in front of the ticket office, see the photo below).
The train journey takes about 2 hours, including a change in Hradec Králové.
We should be back at the Prague Main Train Station by 21:00.
What to bring with you
Swim wear, sun cream, hat, water and a snack.
