Hello Discoverers!
During this day trip you will see the main landmarks of the Moravský kras Protected Landscape Area (Moravian Karst) – The Punkva Caves and the Macocha Abyss.
It is relatively far from Prague, some 240 km /150 miles to drive or 3 hours by train, but definitely worth the journey!
LOGISTICS & PLAN OF THE DAY
We will meet at 7:30 AM at the Prague Main Train Station, in front of the main ticket office.
The journey to Moravský kras will take about 3 hours and then another cca 30 min of easy walk on a paved, traffic-free road to the entrance of the Punkva Caves.
The guided tour of the Caves, including reaching the bottom of the Macocha Abyss and a boat ride on the underground part of the Punkva river, takes about 60 minutes and will be conducted in English.
We will then hike on to look to the 138 meters depth of Macocha from the top. It is pretty spectacular!
After a late lunch (around 14:00), an easy walk in the woods will bring us back to the starting point.
Expected arrival back to Prague is around 20:15 but a delay is possible. Don’t plan anything important after the trip!
DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium
Altogether you will have to walk for cca 8 km on the surface and another about 1,5 km in the cave. This will include one steep ascent and descent. Wearing good walking shoes is necessary!
FOOD
Bring water and a snack. We will stop in a restaurant for lunch at around 14:00.

Firm, non-slippery shoes; Warm clothes – it is about 7°C /44°F in the cave!; umbrella or rain coat if rain is expected

1090Kč or 890Kč with Discovery Pass!
The price includes all transportation (train and cab), admission to the Punkva Caves plus the fee for taking pictures, trip research and tickets booking, myself as your host and guide.
Children under 16 pay 890 CZK (create a separate order for them an enter ‘child16’ coupon code at the checkout). Due to the length of this trip, it is best suitable for children from 12 years.
Food&drink is not included.
