Netwalking is networking while walking and talking. Let’s stretch our legs and have a friendly chat!
We are going to walk some 7-10 km in parks and quiet streets of Prague and top-off the walk with a drink or meal in a pub.

Saturday Walk across Říčanka

Ahoj Netwalkers!
I’d like to invite you for an easy walk in the lovely Nature Park Říčanka in the south-east of the capital, between Běchovice, Dubeč and Uhříněves.
Our route will losely follow the course of the Říčanský creek, upstream from its confluence with Rokytka near Běchovice to the ancient wood of the Uhříněves Game Reserve.
This part of Prague is very rural – mostly fields, meadows and ponds, smaller and larger forests. It’s been greatly improved by a large scale revitalization in the past 10 years. A new lake was built, thousands of new trees have been planted and new gravel roads created.
On the other hand, in just 2 years, a new 6-lane section of the Prague Ring Road (D0) is going to cut through the nature park.
Therefore now is the best time to visit, after the improvements have been done and before the Ring Road will have changed the area forever.
DIFFICULTY: Easy to Medium
About 10 km on flat terrain (only 70 meters / 200 ft of vertical gain)
A mixture of paved, unpaved and gravel roads, some sections muddy when wet.
MEETING POINT
We will meet at 9:45 am at the Masaryk Railway Station (Masarykovo nádraží), in the station hall, by the departures board.

Don’t be late, the train won’t wait for you!
End point: Praha – Uhříněves Train Station. There are at least twice hourly trains to the Main Train Station (16 min travel time) and frequent buses to several metro stations (Háje, Chodov, Skalka).

- An umbrella or raincoat if rain is expected.
