join me on a relaxing day trip to a pretty spa town near Prague and its lovely lake. Bring swimwear and a towel with you!
Podebrady is a spa town of about 14 thousands inhabitants, approximately 50 km east of Prague. You probably know it from the name of the metro A station “Jiriho z Podebrad” (of George of Podebrady) who was the Czech king from 1458 to 1471.
We’ll take a walk along Kolonada (the main spa promenade) and then head to the Lake Podebrady. It has a very nice beach, changing rooms and other facilities including a restaurant. The water quality is regularly monitored so it’s perfectly safe (and pleasant!) to dip in. Admission to the beach is included.

If the weather is not favorable for swimming, we’ll go on an easy walk to the confluence of rivers Cidlina and Labe (Elbe) and/or visit the museum at the Podebrady Castle. There is an interesting exhibition about, you guessed it, JZP!
LOGISTICS
We’re meeting at 9:45 am at Prague Main Train Station, at our usual place in front of the main ticket office, see the photo below.
The train journey to Podebrady takes about 55 minutes.
We should be back in Prague by 6:00 pm

The price includes guiding, round-trip train fare and the admission to the beach at the Podebrady Lake (or to the Podebrady Castle if the weather is not favourable for swimming).
Children under 16 accompanied by adult pay 190 CZK (apply coupon code ‘child16’ at the checkout, one child per one adult).
